MARRAKECH COLOUR UPDATE

IMG_2643.png

We are predicting a shift of colour in the souks. It’s not prominent yet but it’s out there in the shops and more and more on social media.
Tolerant as we are in Marrakesh, it works very well together with the former trend colours. We don’t spit out a former colour here, we introduce just another one to match.
And what other colour would be better to match with faded nudes, sunshine whites, boring beige (with great respect ;) and Pantone Greens ) than….

LE BRICK IS BACK! aka Marrakech Rouge!
And we say Yalla to that!

While faded bohemian colours got more and more faded, to a level that one could hardly tell what the original tone was, we are rescued by the colour that naturally surrounds us in the Medina. Rouge rocks to say it just one more time!

To make this clear, we are not talking about this ugly pink that attacks you in so many bad designed riads! We are talking brown/red/pink with all the heat a wall can absorb during a hot Marrakech summer. It ages gracefully, adds a subtle class to where ever it is added and it makes one wonder “why did I not use this colour earlier?”

When masters in design like Mustapha Blaoui finish their bathroom at Maison Blaoui in this tone, we know it’s a serious shadethat needs to be watched!
To find more inspiration or simply, to get ready and witness it yourself, here are some more random photos that should convince you.

And of course…there’s always Pinterest!
