COLOR ID: PURPLE

I'm kind of turning more and more into a color freak...It might just be that Louise Cohen is right with her article on colors.
Anyway folks, I am still a black and white addict but the color we are going to talk about now is just WOW when combined with golden-yellow  AND B&W.

Purple, violet....

A color that relates to the imagination and spirituality. Stimulating the imagination and inspiring high ideals. It is an introspective color, allowing us to get in touch with our deeper thoughts.

Often we use the two names in common but are they?

violet

The difference between violet and purple is that violet appears in the visible light spectrum, or rainbow. Violet has the highest vibration in the visible spectrum.

purple

whereas purple is simply a mix of red and blue.

While violet is not quite as intense as purple, its interaction is kind of similar. The color suggests wealth and extravagance for violet, fantasy and the world of dreams for purple.
Both contain the energy and strength of red with the spirituality and integrity of blue.
This is the union of body and soul creating a balance between our physical and our spiritual energies.
Physiologically, it heightens people's sense of beauty and their reaction to more creative ideas.

What does this tell about you, purple lover?

I love all of you who have chosen this color as their favorite on the FB page because you are:
sensitive and compassionate,
understanding and supportive,
thinking of others before yourself - you are the person others come to for help!
being needed motivates you but sometimes people take advantage of you.
You are a gentle and free spirit.
Your feelings run deep and you can be quite sensitive to hurtful comments from others, although you would never show it.
You are creative and like to be individual in most of your endeavors, including your dress and home decoration.
You love the unconventional.
With your personality color purple you inspire others with your creative thinking and your ability to deal positively with adversity.

How can purple work for you and your business?

It is often used to denote a high quality or superior product, such as high end fashion and interior or some women's cosmetics.
Purple is often connected with the 18 to 25 year old market as they see it as sexy and rebellious, while innovative designers go more for violet and connect it with sophistication and power.
It is most often used by businesses in creative fields -designers, psychics and cosmetic manufacturers are common users of it.

Purple is a color that works well with gold, taupe, turquoise, jade green, deep red, magenta and yellow. Combined with orange it creates a unique contemporary look.

If you constantly surround yourself with too much purple you can become moody. If this is the case, balance the purple with some magenta or green.

Purple a female color?

Purple is more suitable for products and websites related to women or children, although younger men are slowly becoming more attuned to it.
Purple portrays wealth and extravagance when combined with the richness of gold.
When used with silver it expresses Independence and  shows you go your own way...
Lavender works as a sweet romantic touch and Pantone color of the year radiant orchid is exactly the right color to get out of the depression and the economic situation of the past years. It RADIATES like no other color. It gives you instant energy!
